Near the ancient water fountain of the Poet, on the hills of Tuscany, it is possible to enjoy a vacation immersed in the atmosphere of a farm, a fairy tale among the geese and hens, the cows and horses. Here men, women and animals live and work together to fulfill the dream of a largely self-sufficient organic oasis. Our guests are welcome to part-take in the daily activities of the farm, or to thoroughly relax in one of our two welcoming, completely renovated apartments. Maya and Cleo, two lively ponies, will provide plenty of entertainment for our youngest guests, always being available for rides and fun. For our older guests our horses Linda and Gina are great for rides and excursions, being so patient and well trained, that even people who might be a little afraid of larger animals will be able to have fun with one of man’s best friends. If you wish to dine at our place, you will taste simple yet exquisite and diverse meals that follow the rhythm of the seasons, the aroma and flavors of the orchard and farm – from vegetables and honey to eggs and extra virgin olive oil produced on location. If you want to try to prepare your own meals, you can come with us to the orchard to pick the vegetables you like, and we will give you helpful tips on how to prepare them. All of the products from our orchard have been selected throughout the years rediscovering the old varieties that are more adapted to this terrain, such that they are easily cultivated and grow well, naturally, without the use of chemical products. The farmhouse complex was built around an old medieval tower, on a sun drenched location at a height of 400 meters (1300 feet). Though the farm “The Poet” is immersed in surrounding woods and olive trees, it is perfectly situated to offer a variety of daily outings and activities to the vacationing guests. Florence is only only 30 km (18 miles) away and we will provide you with all the necessary information ranging from the best restaurants to the most interesting cultural events. Nearby there are also numerous, well-marked nature paths for walks, trekking or mountain biking, away from traffic roads and starting directly from the complex. And going fishing is only a short excursion away, at a small lake in the valley beneath the farm house. Of course, you are welcome to bring along your four-legged friends!
